Enhanced Skin Rejuvination

What are the benefits?
Enhanced Skin rejuvenation is a revolutionary skin treatment using multiple laser wavelengths to eliminate and reduce pigmentation, broken capillaries, wrinkles and improve facial toning. It is most often performed on the face and neck, but the chest hands, arms and legs can be treated as well.

How does it work?
Laser light is absorbed by pigmented areas where it is converted to heat, causing a breakup in the pigment. In broken capillaries and spider veins, the laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the blood and collapses the unwanted vein. For wrinkles and skin toning, the laser stimulates collagen growth. We will analyze your skin condition and help you select the most effective treatment for you.

When will you see results?
Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements to broken capillaries, small facial veins and some pigmented areas within a few days. Other improvements such as wrinkle reduction and toning will be more subtle and may take one to three months. Friends may suggest that you look more rested. With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.

How often can you have it done?
A series of three to eight treatments, spaced two to four weeks apart, is our standard recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for optimal, lasting results.

What can you expect immediately post-treatment?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a darkening of pigmented areas. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days however, darkened pigmentation may persist and PEEL LIGHTLY for up to one week. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment. It is extremely important to apply a moisturizer with SPF30 sunblock and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to prevent additional sun damage.

How long does it take?
This treatment takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

How much does it cost?
Generally, treatment is $200 per session.

Laser Hair Removal

How does it work?
Laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle while your hair is in its anagen, or active phase of growth. The laser light is converted into heat, causing thermal damage to the follicle without harming the surrounding tissue. Hair re-growth is impeded in the damaged follicle.

Is it safe?
Cosmedx uses the most advanced FDA cleared laser technology for permanent hair reduction, safely and effectively treating all ethnic origins and skin types including tanned skin. A Nurse Practioner performs all treatments.

How many treatments will be needed?
Only 30% of your hair may be in the active phase at any one time depending on the body area. Thus a series of treatments will be required to achieve the long-term improvement you desire. These treatments are spaced approximately three to twelve weeks apart, based on your hair growth cycles. Our extensive experience tells us that you can expect to need from three to eight treatments.

How long does each treatment take?
Sessions for an upper lip or small bikini area can take as little as 15 minutes, while larger areas on back and legs may require up to 60 minutes or more.

Is it permanent?
The average patient in clinical studies see a 48% reduction in hair growth after three treatments and up to an 80% lasting reduction after six to eight treatments (results vary). After you have completed a series of four to six treatments, any remaining hair will usually be finer and lighter in color. Most patients require one or two touch up treatments per year. Blonde, platinum, most red, gray and vellus hair will not respond to this treatment.

How much does it cost?
Treatments range from $50.00 per session to $300 per session. During your FREE consultation we will be better able to tell you how many treatments we think you will need and give you an estimate of the cost.

Does it Hurt?
Laser Hair Removal feels a bit like a rubber band snapping across the skin. We can use a topical anesthetic that is applied in the office to minimize any discomfort you may feel.

*Note: Laser Hair Removal is not effective on Red, Gray or Blonde hair, however, we do have a product called Meladine to aid in hair removal for these hair types. Please contact us for more information.

Botox

What is Botox?
Botox is a purified protein. It is a non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in patients 18 - 65 years of age. During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines between the brows.

How does it Work?
The lines that appear between your brows actually result from muscle movement and the passage of time. Two muscles are largely responsible for frown lines between the brows. Botox cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of those muscles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and the moderate to sever frown lines between your brows begin to fade.

Is it Safe?
Botox Cosmetic is the only treatment of its type approved by the FDA for this use. The treatment is minimally invasive and non surgical. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.

When Will I see Results?
Most people begin to see smoothing of the treated area within 5 - 14 days.

How long does it last?
Most people will continue to see results for 3 - 4 months.

Does it hurt?
The procedure is quick and minimally invasive. The doctor will determine exactly where to administer the injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia is required.

How Long Does the Treatment Take?
The entire procedure can be done in approximately 15 minutes.

Are there side-effects?
Patients with neurological disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects. The most common side effects include headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea. Other side effects include pain and redness where the medicine is injected, pain in the face, and muscle weakness. These effects generally occur within the first week and usually go away on their own.

How do I know if Botox Cosmetic is right for me?
If you are between 18 and 65, you may be a candidate for Botox Cosmetic.
